Associate Dean：Ran Qihua
Ran Qihua, male, born in Tongren in November 1973, Guizhou, doctor of engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor.
Graduated from the Department of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering of Tsinghua University in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in hydraulic structure; In 1999, he received a master's degree in hydraulics and river dynamics from the Department of Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering of Tsinghua University, and a master's degree in geology and hydrology from the Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences of Stanford University in 2002. In 2006, he received a doctor's degree in geology and hydrology from the Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences of Stanford University in the United States. From 2006 to 2021, he worked in the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering of Zhejiang University, among which he was promoted to associate professor in 2008, qualified for doctoral guidance in 2010, promoted to professor in 2013, served as the director of the Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering of Zhejiang University from 2010, and served as the director of the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering of Zhejiang University from 2014 to 2018. He worked in the School of Water Resources and Hydropower of Hehai University in November 2021, served as the director of the Institute of Hydraulics and River Dynamics of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower of Hehai University in March 2022, and served as the vice president of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower of Hehai University in June.
His main research fields include river basin water and sediment movement, numerical simulation methods and prevention and control of water-related disasters, presided over more than 10 national and provincial scientific research projects, published more than 70 papers included in SCI/EI, and won three provincial and ministerial awards. He served as the executive deputy director of the Terrestrial Process Professional Committee of the Chinese Branch of the International Hydrological Society, the deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Water Resources Standardization Technical Committee, the member of the Sediment Professional Committee of the Chinese Water Conservancy Society, the member of the Reservoir Sediment and Resource Utilization Professional Committee of the Chinese Dams Society, the member of the American Geographic Society (AGU), the member of the International Institute of Water Conservancy and Environmental Engineering (IAHR) and other academic part-time positions.
