On the noon of October 31, 2025, our institute successfully held a seminar on safety science and engineering in Conference Room 420 of the Water and Electricity Museum. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yuan, Dean of the School of Water Resources and Hydropower, with Jiang Sheng, Director of the Institute of Smart Water Resources and Safety, giving a core report. All teachers of the institute participated in the seminar to jointly plan a blueprint for the leapfrog development of the discipline. The purpose of this conference is to comprehensively review the current situation of the discipline, clarify the characteristic development path with water security as the core, benchmark top domestic universities to find gaps, and plan future development measures led by the application for doctoral programs.
